How should I wash my linen or cotton pieces?Updated 4 months ago

Linen and cotton are beautiful, breathable fabrics - perfect for everyday wear. To help your garments last longer and retain their shape and colour, follow these tips:

Always check the care label:
Each item can be a little different! Some may be machine washable, while others recommend hand washing. We always recommend following the care label instructions first.

Washing tips to keep it looking fresh:

  • Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle

  • Use a mild detergent (preferably one designed for natural fibres)

  • Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that can fade or weaken the fabric

  • Wash with similar colours to prevent dye transfer

  • Turn garments inside out before washing to preserve colour and reduce surface wear

Drying and reducing creasing:

  • For best results, air dry on a hanger to let gravity naturally pull out wrinkles

  • Alternatively, lay flat on a drying rack in the shade

  • Avoid tumble drying as it can cause shrinkage and stiffen the fibres

  • If needed, give it a light steam or press with an iron on low — for linen, use steam while the item is still slightly damp

How to retain shape:

  • Reshape garments while damp

  • Don’t over-wash - both linen and cotton benefit from occasional airing out rather than frequent washing

  • Fold rather than hang heavy cotton knits to avoid stretching
