How do I care for my candle?Updated 4 months ago

To get the most out of your candle - and enjoy a clean, even burn - it’s important to follow a few simple care steps. These tips will help extend the life of your candle and ensure a safe, beautiful experience.

First burn matters

  • When lighting your candle for the first time, let it burn until the wax melts evenly across the entire surface (this may take 2–3 hours).

  • This sets the “memory” of the candle and helps prevent tunneling, where wax builds up around the edges and wastes product.

Trim your wick

  • Before each burn, trim the wick to 5mm

  • A trimmed wick creates a cleaner, safer flame and reduces smoke, soot, or mushrooming

  • Use wick trimmers or small scissors - and let the wax cool before trimming

Burn time guidelines

  • Don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time

  • Always allow the candle to cool before re-lighting

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or near flammable items

Reuse your jar

  • Once your candle is finished, don’t toss the jar!

  • To clean: place the jar in warm water or freeze briefly to loosen leftover wax

  • Use the jar as a makeup brush holder, jewellery pot, or plant pot – perfect for giving your space a second glow ✨
