How do I care for my candle?Updated 4 months ago
To get the most out of your candle - and enjoy a clean, even burn - it’s important to follow a few simple care steps. These tips will help extend the life of your candle and ensure a safe, beautiful experience.
First burn matters
When lighting your candle for the first time, let it burn until the wax melts evenly across the entire surface (this may take 2–3 hours).
This sets the “memory” of the candle and helps prevent tunneling, where wax builds up around the edges and wastes product.
Trim your wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to 5mm
A trimmed wick creates a cleaner, safer flame and reduces smoke, soot, or mushrooming
Use wick trimmers or small scissors - and let the wax cool before trimming
Burn time guidelines
Don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time
Always allow the candle to cool before re-lighting
Never leave a burning candle unattended or near flammable items
Reuse your jar
Once your candle is finished, don’t toss the jar!
To clean: place the jar in warm water or freeze briefly to loosen leftover wax
Use the jar as a makeup brush holder, jewellery pot, or plant pot – perfect for giving your space a second glow ✨
